YAY!! A NEW FAB’s FUN-TO-LEARN course! You’re so funny! Thank you for making the creative process so accessible and enjoyable. I was like a kid that did not want to take a nap and wanted to play right after lunch... you know what i mean:) i had made an accordion sketchbook a few days ago so i used it! But i had to collapse it momentarily to fit all the tiles in one shot... yes, just one camera.. no not two... oh you mean tiles!! Made 6 during one lesson!!! More to come... I will see in the end what to make for the wall using all the project lessons. I highly recommend this class! Cheers Fab and everyone! (“,)

Fall, Autumn Leaves, Winter

Here’s my first A4-sized piece integrating Stripes, Rays, Patterns, Masking Tape, Simple Shapes and Level 3!!!

I would have to practice with the masking tape or use washy tape next time. However i did like the textures left by the paint that slipped underneath the masking tape. They're like tree trunks swaying and losing their leaves... amidst the autumn colors and coming chill.

From this i used some creative liberty to draw some simple shapes of leaves in white gelly roll pen to suggest a story about that interim process between Autumn and Winter.

RAINBOW !

An A4-sized rainbow piece. Just enjoying its simplicity... Love how the water creates the effects on its own with just a touch ... i will make another one using splashes and the other levels :)

Combination of Projects (#2)

A4-size. Tried Micropore Tape, because it was thin already... but it didn’t work too well either as it kept moving...  Also, i used the smooth side of the paper — so even the first layer of paper margins got torn with the masking tape. i will try washy tape next time.

Notwithstanding, i love all the textural effects that it left! :D

YAY! RAYS ... erhm, RAYC!

A5-size /SMOOTH surface

FINALLY WASHY TAPE WORKED!

I think it has to do with my paper, but maybe its also the quality of my masking tape!

Though i skipped a ray to let them dry, i used too much water in some parts BUT I love how the overlap of layers created the “lines” so we can see the rays!!

Hmm.. should i do more? Maybe in the next round... i think ill savor the first level first and do at least one of each of the 5 paintings - or more - before i go on the next levels...

What’s GREAT about this CLASS is i find SO MANY POSSIBILITIES

and i have SO MUCH FUN while EXPERIMENTING (playing!)

More "combination" experiments with RAYC

Added Splashes of color and small drawings... taking a break and hopefully to do some lettering next.

Thank you Fab, once again, for this inspiring CLASS! Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Next, finally..

COMBINING 4 PROJECTS W/ Level 4 - TYPOGRAPHY and some

Level 3 - Splashes

Level 3B - Simple shapes

Level 4B - Simple drawings (i decided to make one focal cup drawing (the new upcoming sketch journal class started to inspire this)

and daring to make mistakes! I really need more practice with lettering..

i forgot to wear my glasses!

LEVEL 2 Daring to COVER!

The letters are not coming out enough... covered with black, purple and indigo then blotted out the cover so that some of the colors from the pattern beneath can still emerge

Decisions... more decisions

WHAT IF.... i cover all the patterns except the masking tape and stripes? Uh-oh.. where is the painting leading me?

This class really anticipated things with Level 2 Cover-Up...

now i have a reference for different effects...

i also have to learn when to stop, but i think the dark areas need some simple drawings too!

EVERYONE CAN PAINT! : Combining Projects - image 11 - student project

simple drawings, shapes and splashes... so i think this one is done!

 NOW... MAPS!

EVERYONE CAN PAINT! : Combining Projects - image 12 - student project

Combination of 3 Projects - Maps, Rays, Masking Tape, a subtle palette, splashes (even beyond the margins), simple shapes and typography (i still can't find my glasses, phew!)

Painting Combination (#3)

Maybe ill add things to it later..

17 MAY 2024

A SECOND PROJECT: "YOU CAN DO THIS"

EVERYONE CAN PAINT! : Combining Projects - image 14 - student project

Hmmm. I think I'll add some  white drawings!

EVERYONE CAN PAINT! : Combining Projects - image 15 - student project

Paint gets lighter when dry, buts its fine. Now i know i can add more paint to water next time.

23 May 2024

Wondering if I should add some small drawings like coffee seeds (?)

Seems like there's enough already, but someone wants to draw some stars, snowflakes, hearts, musical notes, and ...  ;D

EVERYONE CAN PAINT! : Combining Projects - image 16 - student project

I LOOKED AT IT ANOTHER WAY UPSIDE DOWN (below) FIRST BEFORE ADDING THE LETTERS... I LIKED IT TOO, ITS LIKE A HOUSE, BUT THE OTHER WAY SEEMED TO WORK... WISH I COULD HAVE BOTH BUT I HAD TO CHOOSE.
