Dreamy Watercolors

Dreamy Watercolors - student project

I’ve always been fascinated by watercolors, the history of pigment and great possibilities of this medium.

So my journey started with some abstract watercolor warm-up I call a Dancing Brush.

Honestly, I can paint like this for so-o-o long without thinking and worrying about outcomes.

Meanwhile, it’s always great to experiment with different pigments.

When using Cadmium Lemon on top of the Indigo or any dark color, we can get such fantastic results.

Looks a bit like Starry Night:)

The cheerful crafty technique is next :)

I’ve covered the shape of the bird at first not to “damage” it with other colors.

And only after everything is dry, I continued working on small details and loose strokes.Dreamy Watercolors - image 6 - student project

And here is a big final project. I had a completely different idea at first.

I’m sure you know this feeling so well!

But when I started painting the whole world turned completely in a different way and showed me this lively scene.
