I recently took up watercolor painting, painting in general, paint making as well. As part of my practice I often do little sketches, like 8 miniatures inside little boxes on a sheet of paper. The sketches are done for fun, as practice, to develop ideas and as spontanous experiments. Watching this tutorial I decided to try it as well. I really enjoyed watching the instructions and the process of painting it.

2.5 x 3.5 inches (6.35 x 8.89cm), plain paper with a thin layer of gesso, self-made watercolor paints. I call it "Distant Dreams". As a beginner, it appears to be an insurmountable challenge to overcome the mountain of difficulties and achieve half-decent paintings. But every little sketch and every painting are steps along this long journey.
