Hi Anne, thank you for this class. I have done flowers before in watercolors (one of my favorite subject because you can do so much with it..) but after watching the videos I challenged myself to stay close to the photo and do it more detailed. I think the difficulty with trying to be "exact" is that you always see something and could paint forever and got to be careful not to make it worse....But like you said in the video it doesn't have to be perfect. I also did a sketch first like you recommended in your butterfly class.
