Designing a Scarf of my Travels

Moodboard
I started off by looking for scarves and going through my travel photos from a recent retreat with all of my creative friends. It was a life-changing experience so I would love to have a little token to remind me of it.
The retreat took place in the Yorkshire Dales so I wanted to pull a lot of inspiration from the surrounding nature and textures. The scarves I found most inspiring tended to be floral scarves with organic shapes, so I wanted to focus on those elements.
Sketching
After I finished my mood board, I jumped into sketching in procreate. I used the symmetry features over a few days to sketch and then refine my sketch into a finished design. I'll be printing the design and painting it on paper in order to get a lot of lovely texture for the piece.
Painting
Now this took quite a while. My largest watercolour paper was 12" square, which means that the more detailed parts of the design were quite fussy. But after a couple of weeks plugging away at it for 30 minutes or so a day, I've finally finished. My next step will be to bring it into procreate/photoshop and just finesse a few details.
Final Design
Next, I brought the design into photoshop and tweaked it. Then I moved it to procreate to add a signature and a border. I sent it off for printing to ArtofWhere.com and I can't wait to see the design in person!
