Day 1-14 (updating daily as I do the course)

Day 1: Ideation Sketching (Didn´t do pencils, but socks)

Time: 10 min

Found this course, while Im in my exam-period. Figured out it would be a nice add-in while studing, a creative free-flowing project to de-stress:) Thank you for making this course

Best regards

Day 2: Meditative sketching (Line)

Time: 10 min

Got carried away and made 2 drawings, 10 min each. It felt so since and calming. One with lines and one with lines and different shapes

Did catch myself a couple of times having some "perfectionistic" thoughts, (about making it "right" or "better"). Noticed them and threw´em out the window, just to let my self sit and just enjoy the process.

Day 3: Sketch Journaling (My day in food)

Time: 10 min

Since this is something I´ve started first thing in the morning, I did a sketch journal of what I ate yesterday:)

Day 4: Meditative sketching (Bricks)

Time: 15 min

Got a bit carried away, and spent 5 min extra.
Love how this excercise feels like a little brain massage, and doing this makes it easier to put away the phone

Day 6: Meditative sketching (Texture)

Time: 20 min

Found this a bit tricky, since it was texture. Started with overthinking it, and then I just let go and made what ever that came to mind, that felt textured to me :)

Day 7: Scene buildings

Time: 15 min

Im mostly at home during my exam-prep, and I live in a very rural place in Norway, so not many buildings to draw right here😅 Decided to draw my garden and studio instead (above the garage in the left corner), since this is where I spend most of my days, while prepping.
Had a nice time, it was good to get into perspective-drawing again, I felt focused and present.

Day 8: Ideation sketching (light bulbs)

Time: 15 min

Continuation of my little new morning process. So happy to do this, it has been a great way to build in a small and doable habit. Im aworking on completing things I start, (creative projects), and these lessons helps me build that muscle, and also provides a sense of mastery, which is very nice. 10-15 min each day feels very doable:)

Day 10: Meditative sketching (Flowing lines)

Time: 20 min

Since it was Saturday, I gave myself extra time to draw and relax, therefor 20 min.
I enjoy doing these little sketches so much, that it is easy to keep going, even after the timer goes off. It is nice though to have that 10min timer.
Played around with some colours today, and experimented a bit.
This is a piece I would like to come back to, and keep working on
It´s already day 10, out of 14, and I think I will do this daily practice class again😇

Day 13: Ideation sketching (Spring)

Time: 12 min

This exercise felt nostalgic, and made me feel like a kid again (which could explain my misspelling of the word sPring, oops😇)

Day 14: Meditative sketching (Colouring)

Time: 15 min

Love, love these meditative sketches.
Sooo soothing, minimal thinking, just vibin´
And! It´s day 14! Im so proud of myself for doing this.
What I´ve learned about forming habits: focus on one or two at the time, do something that feels good, and make it do-able (like these 15 min).

Progress over perfection
Consitstency over perfection
Balance over perfection
💙

Thanks for this lovely and inspiring course!

Bringing daily sketching into my everyday life now✨

Update after the course:

The medative sketching sessions inspired me to do more of that kind of drawing.
I really enjoy the feeling of doing repetative patterns and just letting things flow.
I´ve been coming back to this drawing, over multiple sessions while I´ve been taking breaks from studying. Feels good to have a project to keep working on.
Really want to explore this kind of drawing on bigger canvasas as well.
