Creating an Art Journal Page Using the Recipe Technique

Hello, students! I hope you're enjoying the class.
I wanted to share an example of a new page I created using the recipe technique we covered in class.
My focus for this page was inspired by an old film photo of the beautiful Grand Canyon I took on a family vacation many years ago.
Working on this page, I thought about how much I enjoy creating art when I look for inspiration in the natural world and capture it in my own style, rather than scrolling for art inspiration online.
There is so much amazing art out there, and there's nothing wrong with learning from other artists. But sometimes, it's too easy to compare our work to others! I think the answer is balance, and that's what I pondered as I created this page.
Here are a few close ups of my finished page:
Oh, and I decided to date this page using my handy dandy date stamp! I love to date my pages, because it helps me see how my art progresses over time and serves as a kind of memory book.
