Your painting is so lovely, Debbie! The colours are great, and you have created a good contrast in your painting.  :) I can see that you have tried painting it on a block of paper, and I admire your choice. That makes it more difficult to maintain the soft edges, as your paper dries a lot faster. With that said, I cannot see any watercolour blooms, so that is great. You have done a great job. It`s not necessary to do that, but if you decide to try wetting both sides of your paper for your experiment with the cold-pressed paper, and you don't have a plastic sheet, you can cover a hard surface like a drawing board with cling film. If you use this method, you can reuse the same surface for multiple painting sessions, as long as you wipe it clean and let it dry.  I can`t wait to see the cold pressed version.

This is painted on Bachong Hot pressed, 7"x4.9".  I have never soaked any watercolor paper.  This is my version of your painting.  I will be trying this one again on larger paper and do with cold pressed next time and try to do the A-la-Prima method.
