Comic Grid

Comic Grid - student project

Wow—what a great class! Thanks for such effective lessons, John!

So I first drew a grid. I wanted to use a specific palette, and I started with a dog because I like dogs. The grid in the first panel guided my choices for the specifics of the dog, beginning with the angle of the head and the curve of the tail. Those grid-related body parts made the dog so cute! After that, my subsequent choices were all grounded in the grid, too. So much fun to play with a puzzle!

Drew the comic playing The Game, from John’s improv comic class, letting the grid help me focus on visual ways to heighten the game idea. Again: so fun! Psyched about this first draft.
