Colour Mixing with Gouache

Trying to make te colours you wished you had, with the colours you do have...in my case Himi Gouache. 24 colours but a few I still miss, or that are too bright and need a little something.

I loved chaging vibrant colours in some what more muted colours.

I started this with some Reeves Gouache, but with just these colours I hade to buy something new, and choose for Himi Gouache, aldo I also bought some Winsor & Newton basics set.

^_^, I had to change my swatches into tiny birds...I really loved this exercise with leaving some of the paint in the brush...such wonderful colours I've got.

Not really happy, but that was more because of the first layer got activated. So I had to work very dry and when dry go over it again. It's ok, I absolutely love the colours, the originals and the muted, especially the muted, ^_^.

I love how the background colour impacts the colours of the flower, something to think about.

I loved this practice, so many gorgeous colours just by mixing them with something dark, light or complementary. Very helpfu and fun to do.

I love all the different turquoises I have made, by mixing Jade Green, more a teal, with Lemon Yellow and White. And making Paynes Gray was easy...when using Prussian Blue with a tiny tip of Black and some white.

This was a great class and so very helpfull, Thank you so much for this and all the tips and tricks.  I surely will use a lot of it, especially the mixing with off-white, and making it myself just like other colours. And keeping some paint in the brush was a real eyeopener!! Still need some colours to buy, but less then I thought...and that is just awesome. And being able to make new colours my own buy just change it a little.
