Interesting, and thank you for sharing. I always love looking at these old historical photographs and have a small collection of images my grandfather took in World War Two in what was then French Algeria, Italy, and then Europe. To develop this further I would experiment with changing this photographs exposure because it appears to be slightly overexposed, which gives the colours a lighter feel. You can easily adjust the photo's exposure in Photoshop by using an Adjustment Layer (see Adjustments panel, Single adjustments — Brightness / Contrast, Levels, Curves, or Exposure). Lowering the image's exposure will make the shadow areas darker (I can see it's a bright summer's day, with the sun high in the sky) and the colours richer.I also searched for photos of the Celestial Sphere Woodrow Wilson Memorial and can see that it's actually made up of two colours, the main being golden like you have done. But it also has parts which have a metal / iron colouring. The outer rings of the statue have this iron colouring. I had a similar experience when colouring photograph of a stone statue my grandfather took in 1943. Photoshop's neural colouring filter made the statue a yellowish sandstone colour, where in fact it was meant to be a stone grey colour. The great thing however about statues is that in most cases they still exist and you can easily find photographs of them taken today for reference.
