A variation on the color wheel mandala. In 2014 I began creating color wheel mandalas. The mandalas led to more complex mandalas created en plein air while traveling, repeating patterns of buildings, objects and people I encountered. Those mandalas evolved into a more free form art I call Dala Art. It's now 2024 and I continue to enjoy creating both dala art and mandalas. I have taught artists on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean the many methods of creating both circular forms. I love seeing their beautiful work that they share with me. It is a calming, meditative art form.
