Collage Experiments - Divergent Thinking Practice

I came to this project because I’m in a bit of a rut with my creativity and wanted to shake myself out of it - I was spending a lot of time working on projects to improve my technical skills, but that lacked creative depth, and I am far away from the diving sites that provide me consistent inspiration.
The main takeaways I have from this class are -
Divergent thinking - I am already a divergent thinker, but I’ve allowed my life to become too routine - I need routines to function effectively, but I also need to look for divergent pathways to nurture my creativity.
Collage exercises - I could feel my brain struggling to process my cut-out drawings - some were still lifes, some were copied from art books and putting them to effective use also made me more willing to do still lifes and studies to improve my technical skill as I can put them to more creative uses later.
Failure - I have had a few failed projects lately; subjects that haven’t panned out, mediums that didn’t quite suit my style of working. Taking this class has helped me understand that these failures were part of the creative process and have helped me refocus on mediums that play more to my strengths (out with the gouache, in with the charcoal).
