Class Project
Rise Story
Whenever George looked around his hometown, he never questioned whether there were better things to explore. His plan was straightforward: graduate high school, attend the town's local college, and eventually join his father and brother working at the police station. After following that plan, graduating high school, enrolling at the local college, and earning his Associate Degree, he began his career at the police station. His daily activities became a routine that he accepted without much complaint.
Living in a quiet town where nothing major ever happened, George could never have imagined that they would one day be embroiled in a murder case involving the child of a high politician. One morning, he was jolted awake by the persistent ringing of his phone. Initially, he ignored it, thinking the caller would give up, but when the ringing continued, he sighed heavily and answered. It was his brother, Andrew, panicking and urging him to come to the station immediately because there was an emergency. George’s mind raced with thoughts of what could be so urgent.
Upon his arrival, George was met with chaos. The station was in disarray with phones ringing incessantly and unfamiliar faces scattered about. The police chief appeared ashen as if he had just survived a storm. The circumstances surrounding the case were shocking; it was hard for George to reconcile such a violent event with the peaceful life he had known for 24 years. He wondered how a tourist had found their way to such a small town—what had drawn them there for spring break when there was nothing to attract visitors?
The pressure mounted on the chief, facing possible termination if he failed to identify the criminal. As George and his colleague began their investigation, the evidence pointed towards one of George’s friends, the last person to see the victim alive. With no signs of poisoning found in the autopsy, the case seemed straightforward. However, George’s instincts told him that something was amiss. Despite being advised by his chief that the case was concluded and a suspect was already in custody, George felt compelled to dig deeper.
He spent his off-hours poring over every clue, comparing them to the evidence presented at the crime scene. As he compiled fragments of the mystery, he realized he needed to contact the defense lawyer. After sharing and discussing his findings, the lawyer decided to include George in the trial process to testify about the new evidence.
The trial unfolded unexpectedly; it concluded that the incident was an accident. The victim had suffered a syncope episode, leading to a fainting spell during which he tragically struck his head on a nearby table, causing a fatal injury.
For George, this case marked his first venture outside of his hometown. In the new city, he found himself captivated by the hustle and bustle, far removed from the quiet familiarity of his life back home. As he explored the unfamiliar streets during his free hours, he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to life than his predictable routine.
This case ignited a spark in George, prompting him to reevaluate his career. He had always been drawn to law enforcement, feeling dedicated to protecting others, but this experience made him realize how exhilarating it could be to uncover the truth. He relayed his thoughts during a phone call with his father and brother, only to find Andrew surprisingly relieved. When George inquired about his brother's reaction, Andrew explained, “You’ve never stepped outside our hometown or dreamed about anything bigger for yourself. While I love working with you, I always hoped something would come along to shake you out of this life you’re willing to live without exploring other possibilities.”
With that encouragement, George decided to pursue a career as a Homicide Detective, opting to stay in the city to further his education. He secured an internship that ultimately led to a full-time position, embracing a life filled with challenges, growth, and adventure far beyond what he had imagined.

Cinderella Story
Jennifer started dancing when she was five years old. Whenever she dances, she feels like she can fly. She puts in all the necessary work to reach her dreams, and her goals and ambitions eventually pay off. She became one of the youngest contemporary dancers in her company.
One day, while out with her friends at a local bar after dance practice, a few guys came in and started hitting on them. Although her friends tried to let the guys down gently, they didn’t take the hint and became persistent. Jennifer looked at her friends and signaled for them to leave. As they gathered their things to head out, one of the guys blocked their path.
"Look, guys, we don't want any trouble, so please clear the way so my friends and I can leave," one of the girls said.
"Not until you agree to go out with us," one of the guys replied.
Jennifer glanced around the bar anxiously and caught the bartender's eye. He seemed to understand the situation and walked over to try to diffuse the situation. However, this seemed to challenge the troublemakers. One of them hit the bartender, and soon the others joined in. Some patrons in the bar decided to help the bartender by confronting the troublemakers, and a fight broke out.
The girls tried to escape as quickly as possible. As they hurriedly approached the door, someone grabbed Jennifer's ankle. She struggled to free herself, finally managing to pry his hand off her ankle. Her friends and she continued toward the door, eager to get away.
In their haste, Jennifer lost her balance on the stairs and fell. As she tumbled down, she heard a cracking sound before everything went black, and she lost consciousness.
Jennifer had ligament tears in her knees, and if she wanted to dance again, she would need surgery followed by several months of recovery at home. As she received this news, she felt her dreams slipping away. She was overwhelmed with pain and resentment towards those individuals responsible for her injury, sometimes even contemplating revenge whenever her knees ached.
Her friends reached out to check on her, but Jennifer didn't reply to their texts or return their calls. Her parents tried to infuse some positive energy into her life, but it had no effect. Her sister also attempted to talk to her, but their conversations felt one-sided. For the first few months, Jennifer's routine consisted of eating and attending physical therapy sessions. Even her therapist struggled to get full sentences out of her, often having to prompt her to respond.
Throughout this recovery process, Jennifer feared she might never dance again. Whenever she tried to envision herself on stage, her mind would revert to the fall that caused her injury, and she could almost hear her bones cracking. Eventually, Jennifer began to open up to her physical therapist about her fears. The therapist recommended that Jennifer see a psychologist to help her cope with the PTSD she had developed from the incident. Both of her counselors advised her not to return to dancing too soon, emphasizing the importance of fully recovering before going back to the company.
Jennifer understands where they are coming from and is committed to having a long career in dance, so she follows their instructions carefully. During this time, she and her sister, Daniella, became very close. Jennifer was able to attend one of Daniella's theater productions and kept her friends updated on her recovery. Her friends would visit her house, and they spent late nights watching romantic comedies together.
Jennifer waited until her physical therapist told her she was ready to return to the Dance Company before going back. She had a lot of catching up to do, but fortunately, her friends and teachers were willing to help her regain her former skill level. Jennifer collaborated closely with her teachers, dedicating significant time to rehearsals and feedback sessions. As a result of her hard work and commitment, she was able to deliver an outstanding performance that truly captivated the audience.
Oepipus Story/ Scenes within a story
In a faraway kingdom, a prince named Kadir was born. He was loved by his parents and adored by his people. Everyone who laid eyes on him found it hard to look away, for he possessed a beauty said to bewitch all who beheld him.
One fateful night, an invasion broke out in the palace. Kadir's father, the king, was killed while heroically luring the invaders away from his wife and child. The queen and her son managed to escape and sought refuge with the people living in the woods, far from civilization. During this time, the queen raised Kadir to be a strong warrior, instilling in him the belief that one day they would reclaim their kingdom.
When Kadir turned nineteen, knights from his father's court sought him out. They were preparing to invade the palace and restore Kadir to the throne. The new king had enslaved Kadir's people, leaving the kingdom in ruins. With the knights by his side, Kadir marched into the castle and successfully drove the invaders away, reclaiming his homeland. Kadir was finally crowned king, but during this turbulent time, the queen fell ill and could no longer support his reign..
Kadir is determined to rebuild his kingdom to its former glory, as it was during his father's reign. One of his counselors suggests that he form a marriage alliance with the daughter of a neighboring kingdom to secure financial support. Kadir marries one of these daughters; however, her family’s wealth is insufficient to cover all the kingdom's needs.
In search of further assistance, Kadir ventures to a distant kingdom, where he encounters a wounded girl named Dena. He decides to nurse her back to health, and during this time, Dena falls in love with him. Unbeknownst to Kadir, Dena is a princess. Once she learns about Kadir's plight, she returns to her father to share what had happened.
The day after Dena's departure, Kadir receives a letter from the king inviting him to dinner. The king offers to help Kadir but requests that Kadir take his daughter as a bride in exchange for the assistance. Kadir politely rejects the proposal, explaining that he already has a wife waiting for him at home. The king informs Kadir that in his kingdom, it is customary to have more than one wife, and his daughter is aware of this; she is willing to share Kadir’s affections with his current wife.
After discussing the matter with his counselor, Kadir decides to accept the king's offer. Fortunately, Dena and Marianne, Kadir's first wife, get along well. Both women are granted equal power, ensuring that no one is above the other in their new family structure.
In the years that followed, Kadir's kingdom thrived, and he became a father to two beautiful boys with each of his wives. One day, after finishing his paperwork in his study, he asked his maid for some wine. She brought it, and Kadir, drinking too quickly, soon became intoxicated. Seeing him in this state, the maid, who had secretly loved him from afar, saw her opportunity to seduce him.
When Kadir woke up the next morning, he tried to figure out where he was. He heard someone moaning next to him and quickly scanned his surroundings, realizing that he was naked. He quickly located his clothes and put them on. Sitting next to the maiden, he assumed she was one of his wife so he gently touched her shoulder to wake her up.
Ariane, the maiden, opened her eyes and gazed back at Kadir. He jumped away from her as though she were on fire. Ariane quickly gathered her clothes and dressed. She then knelt in front of the stunned Kadir as if asking for forgiveness.
Kadir thought to himself, What did I just do? What happened? He looked at Ariane and asked, "What occurred last night?"
"I think you can already decipher what took place, Your Highness," Ariane replied. As Kadir scanned the study, he noticed a patch of blood in the spot where he had woken up. It dawned on him that he had taken her womanhood. Kadir believed he was a monster for taking advantage of the girl. He thought the only way to redeem himself would be to make her his concubine.
When Kadir informed his counselors and his wife about his decision to bring Ariane into his household as a concubine, none of them supported him. However, seeing the guilt that Kadir felt, they reluctantly agreed to his decision. They acknowledged that while Ariane would not be equal to Dena or Marianne, she would still receive respect and protection as Kadir's wife. Kadir privately wed Ariane, but the wedding was not as lavish as the one he had thrown for Dena and Marianne.
As the years passed, Ariane grew increasingly ambitious and wanted to be viewed as equal to the other two wives. Some people in the castle continually reminded her of how she had become Kadir's wife, which only fueled her desire for power. Ariane began to abuse her position, and whenever Dena and Marianne brought their concerns to Kadir, he would dismiss them, assuring them that he would speak with Ariane to address the issue.
However, whenever Ariane was near Kadir, her personality drastically changed; she would become meek and appear obedient to him. This behavior left Kadir feeling confused as he struggled to reconcile the two sides of Ariane: the one he thought he knew and the one his two wives described.
Kadir concluded that this conflict was merely a competition among women, failing to realize too late that Ariane had betrayed him. She had secretly allied with one of his enemies, planning to invade his kingdom once again. On the day of the invasion, Ariane arranged for Kadir to stay with her that night. By the time he realized what was happening around him, it was already too late. Ariane reached under the bed, retrieved a hidden knife, and stabbed him.
Extending A story Frame
Before Kadir became king, his father, King Eric, was known for his generous nature. He believed that kindness would always win people over and assumed that fulfilling everyone's desires would reduce greed and selfishness among his people. However, unbeknownst to him, Andrew, his first counselor, harbored resentment towards him for winning the queen's heart.
Andrew and Devine had grown up together and became engaged as they got older. A month after their engagement was announced, Devine's grandmother fell ill, prompting her to travel to her grandmother's house to care for her. It was during this trip that Devine met Prince Eric.
It was love at first sight for both of them. Despite their attempts to stay away from each other, their feelings prevailed, and Devine ultimately decided to break off her engagement to Andrew.
Although Andrew was heartbroken, he accepted her decision and chose to assist with her wedding, putting aside his own feelings. Even though he was struggling inside, he remained her friend and tried to be happy for both her and Eric.
As the years go by, Andrew grows close to both Eric and Devine, becoming practically a family member to them. In the courts, some counselors become greedy and attempt to stir up trouble. Whenever disputes arise, Eric and Andrew work together to defuse the situation.
One day, the counselors decided that the best way to create discord in the court would be to drive a wedge between Andrew and Eric. These counselors began to poison Andrew's heart against the king by reminding him of what he had lost because of him. They told Andrew, "If it weren't for the king, you and Devine would be married right now, and the child she has with the king would be yours."
Andrew quickly decided to set this idea aside. The villains noticed that their initial strategy wasn't having the desired effect, so they devised a new plan. They would arrange for a coincidental meeting between the queen and Andrew, believing that the more time they spent together, Andrew would realize what he had lost.
The scheming counselors orchestrated a plan for Andrew to be present whenever Devine was upset and needed someone to talk to. As they spent more time together, Andrew started to recognize feelings he thought he had long since lost for her. He realized that he was still in love with Devine, despite believing that those feelings had faded over the years.
Some trusted counselors began to notice the changes in Andrew’s behavior and brought their concerns to the king. However, the king dismissed their worries, confident that he knew Andrew. Unbeknownst to him, Andrew had begun secretly collaborating with his enemy, and they were plotting to invade the kingdom.
