Chipping Sparrow

I did this for this class. It has some obvious flaws and obvious wins.

This is the original subject. The head didn't have a lot of contrast, and it's sitting at rest in a way difficult to see without shading, but I really liked the repetitive white in the wings, and I thought I could capture that in ink.

This was my final proof.

At this stage, I had a few unfixable flaws, but several things I could address.

This was around mid-project, where I started to see a bird in the proofs.

My first proof was obviously undone, but I wanted to see how deep the cuts need to be. I wasn't very sure about the viscosity of the ink until I started working with it.
