I tried using a fountain pen to draw the woman. I know the lines look awful but I decided to show it here anyway and ask about my fountain pen. I've never used one before and picked up this one for $5 as an after thought as I was ordering some other things online. It's a Schneider pen. The pen feels scratchy on the paper and the ink was start stop, start stop, hence my scribbly lines trying to make it work. Is it because it's a new pen? Do I need to wear it in or something or have I bought a dud? I've been thinking about buying a Lami Safari but didn't want to waste money on a pen type I might not like. I'm on a tight budget so this seemed like a cheap try out option.

With my second sketch I've forgotten what it was I was supposed to be doing. I think it started out as trying to fit a scene on a page and then I got a bit carried away with using different shades of grey Faber Castell brush pens for light and shadow. On the plus side both of these are in my A6 book again and they fitted :)
