I decided to create several motifs for a camping themed pattern. I did my initial sketches for the items directly in Adobe Fresco (using the Pencil brush). I didn't reference anything- just drew what came to mind.

I looked at some of my recent pins on Pinterest to get inspiration for the color palette. I knew I wanted to use a red, but beyond that I was open to ideas. I figured out a color group that resonated with me and decided that I wanted the motifs to be outlined for the most clarity. I did that with the vector Basic Round brush in a dark blue.

I colored in each item using my selected palette. This part was fun and I was happy that none of the colors were too "off".

I decided to add a few more motifs after my husband started tossing out more ideas. Below is the final motif drawing I imported over to Illustrator:
