Hi Patti! Ah so great to see your drawing! I was really excited to see you on the class list and eager to see your work. I love this sketch!! There is something really wonderful in the sense of character that you have here, you managed to capture a moment and it's very sensitively expressed. The proportions of the face and figure are spot on! Personality and charm really come through in this drawing. The soft palette also lends a quality to the expression of the person. The challenge with this kind of drawing is to get the sense of the person in a moment with very few lines and rendering, and you've done exactly that. I really appreciate the tonal values you added that make the drawing look much more "finished" than if it were just lines (like mine!) I'd love to see more! If you keep this going, and make more drawings, please add them here. And yes, Starbucks definitely counts! But make mine a filter brew :) As always, thank you so much for sharing your work here, it's awesome to see your contribution to each class.

Yes ma’am! Thank you for the encouraging words, I feel like I’ve come a long way but still have tons to learn. Have you done anything with Blender?

Ah, no I don't work in 3D at all. I studied it many years ago... but have kept my teaching focused on drawing and 2D.... I'm sure you saw my recent post though, about John Knowles' class on Blender? I'd highly recommend his classes if you are looking for something along those lines. I think you have come a long way too. Don't underestimate this drawing .... the more I look at it, the more I think it's so good, and there is something there worth following and pursuing.

Wow! ok these images are very cool, amazing, I completely buy that this is a real object, hard to believe you sculpted this in 3D? There is something unique about this though - it's a real looking camera but it has enough difference to be compelling, yet is not so stylized that it looks cartoony. I love the textures and the attention to details. so overall I would say fantastic job! Perhaps one tiny thing missing for me (and I have no idea, maybe this is intentional) is the markings on the lens, or around the housing/barrel of the lens... the numbers etc... not sure what they are called - the size of the lens, the f stop? But anyway, that's a tiny detail, and ,maybe you don't need them. I think yes overall really great job! So nicely done and rendered!

Thank you! The instructions didn’t go as far as to add the lens descriptions, I’m sure I could’ve figured it out, eventually. It’s amazing what you can create, Adobe Substance Painter was used to apply all the textures. Thank you for taking the time to view it and give some positive feedback.

I’m not good at all with this but when I saw your new class pop-up, you know I had to give it a try.
Maybe I can give a full body a whirl at some point.
People are a challenge for sure, but nonetheless it’s always a pleasure to learn and admire what you offer.
