Judy, this absolutely glows with joy and confidence. 😊 I love seeing how much freer and intentional your brushwork is becoming. The softness, the lifted highlights, and those delicate value shifts in the yellow are beautiful. And honestly, yellow is not an easy monochromatic color to work with, but you handled it wonderfully. What makes me happiest, though, is reading your words about feeling empowered instead of intimidated. That is such a huge artistic shift, and I truly think it shows in this piece. You can feel the freedom in it. Thank you again for sharing your process so openly. Watching these “breakthrough” moments happen in real time is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. 💛 And if you’re enjoying these classes, reviews are always so appreciated and truly help support teachers here on Skillshare.

Well, Carmen, I do SO love text, but I actually had to share an apology on the Blackout Poetry post. I felt like such a dolt, but admitting and error is the the right thing to do. — Hubs was also professor of English. So, together we’re word nerds! LOL!!

Aw shucks ;) I tried this project and ended up with an ugly orange snake. But I tried a lot of techniques and ended up with a mini-book in the end.  :)

Did I hear peeps in the peanut gallery chanting, Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner!” LOL!!! You’er too much!

Greetings, happy painters! I used to think monochromatic painting was boring. Not so! I've fallen hard for monochromatic painting, found that it's empowering and energizing. Brenda's direction is foolproof, even for this watercolor slacker! No fear aboiut adding a wisp of paint here or lifting a spot there. Thank-you, Brenda! What a breakthrough and revelation for me!
