Brand Archetypes for Photographers

Brand Archetypes for Photographers - student project

Branding is the new Black. The world is diving deeper into the human era. Business as we knew it, is no longer. Knowledge on how to create emotional content is nowadays crucial. Brand Archetypes are the most appropriate tools to do just that. The class is an introduction to Branding, Brand Archetypes, and how to use them to create a deeper connection with your client’s audience for photographers. We hear about how graphic designers can change the world. It’s time we give photographers their space too.

You’ll also learn how to improve your visual storytelling.

If you’re a professional photographer who’s worked with agencies and/or any size businesses, this is for you. You need to have gone through the process of selling yourself and given and taken a brief.

This course is also for photographers, professionals, or amateurs who share their work in free and/or paid photo libraries (Unsplash, Freepik, Adobe Stock, Envato, etc.)

Please bring your brain, an open mind, and your imagination. Pen and paper to take notes. And a smartphone, camera to shoot with.

Class Project

Step 1

Pick a brand that you love, or know very well, and observe. Observe their imagery, their tone of voice, and different social media channels to see how they “behave”. After observing, write down the archetypes that you see in them.

Most brands have several archetypes, but you can see one of two that are predominant.

Step 2

Once you’ve completed the course, pick an archetype completely different than what they are and create 1-3 photos that they could use on their new website.

Step 3

Post and share your work in the project section for us to see what you’ve come up with. You can also post on your social media tagging @naami.arts, and using #ArchetypeRebrand.

You’re now ready to create human business photos.
