Botanical Flora Reverie

Botanical Flora Reverie - student project

I thought it was about time I share the sample projects I created for my own class. I didn't want my ideas for the project to sway you in any way as I think it is important for you to explore your own ideas. But anyhow this is what I envisioned when coming up with the illustration project.

I liked the idea of city dwellers recycling takeout boxes, Starbucks mugs and tins to use to grow their plants. Adding in a little sustainability into the project :) This is the type of illustration as you know that I like to work on if you have taken a look at my work. I like to make still lives with everyday objects and especially like to add in a fashion item or two. I would love to let this idea grow and create a larger illustration with even more boxes and tins and other recycled containers with other everyday items to give it personality so you could really imagine who the person is who lives here.

And then I have my botanical pattern. If I'm being honest I took a previous pattern I created in the botanical style and gave it the custom color palette. When creating the pattern I was thinking about picking wildflowers and bringing them home to dry and press.

There we go! I hope you found my briefs inspiring and helpful. I can't wait to see what you all come up with in your class projects.... so please feel free to share!
