Walk away, you will see that its a really nice painting in a few days. I feel your frustration, this is a complex painting, with a lot going on but your perspective is great. I'm loving the rich alizarin crimson of your boat, it is owning the scene and your should own this painting, its good.

Maria, I know you’re not happy with it, but there’s actually so much atmosphere here! The strong red boat works beautifully against those muted surroundings, and I love the loose reflections and textures across the foreground. Sometimes after wrestling with a painting for so long it becomes difficult to see the good in it, but there’s definitely plenty here to be proud off. Also these classes are all about learning and getting out of your comfort zone which it exactly what you’re doing. And in that respect it’s a huge success you should be happy with!

I hear your frustration, Maria.... but I really, really like this! It's dramatic and has so much atmosphere!  I think sometimes when we've worked so closely on a project, we can't 'see' it any more?
