This is lovely Nancy! I think you did a wonderful job as a first try at this and I can see exactly what you were aiming for. Great job!If I could offer some suggestions...To blend the foreground and background a little more, consider leaving some of the textures you're using (for example on the branches) set to the Normal blend mode and add some highlight and shadow that follow that of the background. You did that really well with the eggs!For the nest, use individual textures, before you create the brush, that will lend it more realism because they will carry in to the brush. Try playing with the blend modes while they're sitting on the background photo to see what helps them blend better with the background. You are doing a fantastic job with Designer, from what I have seen from your projects on each class; keep it up!! You are right, practice is key! I so appreciate you taking the time to give such awesome and thoughtful feedback. I went back and re-created my brush, and completely did a different drawing paying close attention to how you did things. I really hope you like effort number two.

You did a wonderful job Nancy! The nest texture blends nicely with the wood grain in the background and the texture on the eggs is fantastic. Great job!!

Well, I tried, with this little multi-media attempt by keeping the photo as my background. One day, I’ll get Affinity Designer down. For now, tons of practice is truly needed. Thanks for an awesome class, Tracey.
