Birch trees are one of my favorite subjects to photograph and I loved everything about this class. Using the cardboard to add the dark tree markings was so much fun.

I learned a few things the hard way with this project. I practiced my trees multiple times with the cardboard prior to working on the project but I practiced on mixed media paper instead of the cold press I had actually painted the background on....totally different results.  Also, I wanted my tree trunks to not be completely straight but I didn't consider how much harder this made it to add the black ink markings.
