I had already designed some beer can artwork for a client so I decided to try creating a mock up and applying that existing artwork to it. My goal was to get it looking like the can does in real life. It is a silver can with the artwork applied as a transparent sticker, so the metal of the can shows through. Overall I found the process took me longer than just photographing the actual can - but this was my first time using Dimension so I'm sure I'll get faster. It will also be useful for creating mock ups to show clients prior to the actual can being produced.

For the background I used a photograph that I took of two pieces of bright colored paper.


I decided this mock up came out looking better than the photo I had originally taken of the real can, so I replaced the photo in my portfolio with this.
