Hey this is a great study! I think it would benefit a lot from another layer. I can still see some of the grid lines through the apple and it would also be a great opportunity to increase the tonal range of the piece. To start with, you can really use a bright yellow at the very top if the apple and then feather it down into the oranges to round it out. Another suggestion is to use a really bright tone on the glint ( almost white) and that will bring out the intensity. Lastly you want to tone down the colours for the reflective orange light on the right hand side. At the moment, they are the same colour as the oranges in the light, but they want to be more muted in tone - still lighter than the shadow, but darker then the light side. This can be made easier to achieve by darkening the shadow to give you more room to balance the tones.Hope this helps :)
