For this project i started by using word to brainstorm an idea. Below is my brainstorm.

The woman is sitting back against a tree with her sketchbook resting on her knees and is facing us so hands are not in view hidden behind the sketchbook and on the end of the pencil can be seen. Her head is facing down her loose hair is subtly shielding her eyes completely on her left side and partially on her right side.

 

After the brainstorm i did a moodboard which consists of photos i have taken when i was on various holidays and an image of a female character i liked in a position that was roughly what i had in mind. Below is my moodbord

 

After that i did rough sketches of heads and very rough bodies.

After that i did basic sketches of various options for the final result and chose a main one and decided i liked one aspect of another option

Before i moved on to refining the sketch for the final product i did another small thumbnail sketch to add in the aspect i liked from one of the other options.

Then i first roughly drew the outline sketch refining as i drew it on another piece of my sketchbook then i used a .3 fineliner and a .1 fineliner to ink the drawing. Then i used alcohol markers to layer and colour the drawing with copic markers though i only have a set of 24.

Overall i am happy with the result i'm not quite happy with how i drew Astrea's proportions but that is something that will improve in time.
