Anatomy Schnatomy

Anatomy Schnatomy - student project

I really enjoyed this class! I thought the whole "giving yourself permission" thing at the beginning was a little cheesy ... but that was probably the most helpful thing for me. I had no idea I was being such an Anxious Annie over my drawing. I've definitely been the type to think, "But I need to know how muscles and stuff works and draw it PERFECT EVERY TIME." And then was disappointed when my drawings lacked emotion and fun.

I had to draw little stick arms and legs because I kept thinking the top circle was the head. I feel much more confident about drawing bodies doing stuff now rather than just standing there being boring.

The proportions were probably the hardest for me to get a grasp on, but eventually, the light bulb came on. For the explore (put it all together) page, I tried to draw Quickly before my brain got involved and over thought things. I just drew a bunch of circles and then connected them to see what they were doing. It turned out pretty interesting and was much easier than I anticipated.

I tried doing something a little different just to see if I could, and I can. :D All thanks to this class! Thanks for helping me not be such a tyrant to myself.

I went back and colored these characters and they really came to life! If this was a cartoon, I would watch it. Chester would definitely be the star.Anatomy Schnatomy - image 7 - student project
