Deep topic. What made you want to use this as inspiration?

I am trying to create an abstract piece related to the topic of America the Beautiful. This topic to me is not merely about apple pie and the red, white and blue. Instead I am trying to use the things which are part of the foundation of the US which is free labor growing the southern cash crops of cotton and tobacco, northern money and the flag. So that was my inspiration. I need to work on creating more layers for my abstract art.
