My ink dissolves in interesting ways but it's a bit tricky to get it dark. I like the effect though, just have to learn to work with it.

Edit: I worked on it some more and added a second version which I'm now quite happy with! I used hatching and water to darken some parts; switching to a small flat brush helped too! (I used a round watercolor brush at first.)
