5 Yuji's

Here's a drawing of Yuji Itadori from jujutsu kaisen that I started in last year December and finished in January this year due to procrastination (the one in the top right corner and the biggest one are mostly traced and the rest is solely my art)
Edit: here's the entire (procrastinated) drawing process of this art piece:
made this as a funny little doodle somewhere in between late September or early October last year
this is simply a sort of traced version of the marker drawing but I decided I didn't like it and changed it to this:
These two drawings were both made on the first of December
the 2nd Yuji was 100% traced from Pinterest since I was looking for inspo but this was too good to pass up on - created on the 5th of December
Like the last one, I didn't take many progress pictures because they were relatively small drawings. I made the 3rd Yuji by using GeGe's simplified version of yuji in his manga book that I had - made on the 7th of December
I was really and I mean REALLY struggling with the face of Yuji since first: I realised through the hard way that I've never drawn eyes closed before and 2:his left eyelash that I'm pretty sure I erased over 10 times because I struggled with symmetry and for 3: the signature MC protagonist smile was much more difficult than I originally expected - 7th of December
I even had to sketch out a few mouths to reference from just to continue this drawing and then I noticed that the anime teeth aren't flat but rather 3D. I had zero experience with 3D but I ended up drawing the mouth anyways... And maybe erasing it 3 or 4 times - 7th of December
I kept this mouth after trial and error since I assumed that this is the closest I'll be able to get without trying again and potentially ruining it for something worse - 18th of December (did I procrastinate something this simple for so long? Yes sadly)
The process of drawing the hair was just agonizing since I was still following the reference photo I had so closely it was basically tracing but it messed up the hair to forehead ratio making yuji, (in my eyes) look 10 and 15 at the same time... I tried to draw the hair in an art style that my favourite artist does (Emarillo Art. Check them out !) and it didn't look so bad - 23th of December
For the biggest Yuji, I found out what smudging was and I applied it to his clothing and hair and I just loved it. For the last Yuji with the question mark, I made them by combining 3 different Yuji's into one by looking at the pages of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga that I had.
this is the end product of all my efforts! Hope you like it just as much as I do! (Sorry for the mini book essay on this art journey) 10th of January
