Waterbrush Lettering Workshop: Establish Your Unique Style and Create a Custom Greeting Card in 2 Weeks!

This December, join me in a private, 2-week workshop to learn how to create your own waterbrush lettered greeting card! Through my class, Waterbrush Lettering Essentials, I'll walk you through a step-by-step process for creating a lettering structure, applying that structure using techniques specific to waterbrush methods, and developing your own waterbrush lettering style based on a typeface you admire. You’ll finish the workshop by applying your new waterbrush style to a greeting card of your choice to gift to a loved one this holiday season! 

Over the course of the workshop, I'll provide you with thorough, 1-on-1 feedback on your project to help accelerate the development of your unique waterbrush lettering style. You will also have exclusive access to a private discussion thread where I will answer any questions you have and help your improve your lettering and push your designs further. 

This workshop is perfect for anyone just beginning brush style lettering or those of you who are looking to expand your lettering skillset into watercolors and/or new tools and techniques. I've limited this workshop to 20 students so that I can provide each of you with extra support and feedback along the way. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a new, unique skillset that will set your lettering apart well into the future!

I’ll be selecting two top students from the workshop, and each will receive:

• A name, quote or phrase (5 words or less) of their choice waterbrush lettered by me in a time lapse video and posted to my instagram account where they will be tagged (the student will also receive the time lapse video file and a high res digital scanned copy)
• Any digital good of their choice from my online shop

How it Works

1. Enroll in the class and download the supply list pdf. Purchase the necessary supplies before the workshop begins on November 30th, 2015 in order to complete each step.
2. Watch the class video lessons to learn the skills you need to complete each step of the project.
3. Every few days, you’ll receive an email outlining which project steps to complete next.
4. Post your project steps in the class project gallery to get feedback from your classmates. The best learning experience on Skillshare is collaborative, so be sure to offer feedback to your classmates regularly as well.
5. Upload your final project by December 11th, 2015 to successfully complete the workshop.

SESSION TIMELINE

Part 1 - Your Greeting Card Text

• Watch videos 1-3 in Waterbrush Lettering Essentials

• Create a project and share what text you will letter onto your greeting card by Wednesday, December 2nd

Part 2 - Letter Practice

• Watch videos 4-9 in Waterbrush Lettering Essentials

• In your project, share the font that will inspire your personal waterbrush style. Complete at least one method mentioned using that font to practice your style, and share your experiments by Saturday, December 5th

Part 3 - Effects Practice 

• Watch videos 10-15 in Waterbrush Lettering Essentials

• Practice the effects shown in the videos and apply them to your lettering. Share your experiments by Wednesday, December 9th 

Part 4 - Final Lettering

• Watch video 16 in Waterbrush Lettering Essentials

• Apply your lettering to your greeting card and share the final outcome and who the lucky recipient will be by Friday, December 11th
