September may be “back to school” but for those in the working world, it’s back to the grind. September is also the perfect excuse to update and redesign your résumé. This class will give you the skills, tips and resources you need to do revamp your résumé whether you’re a designer or not, regardless of what software you use, which can be applied to any future document you create. Students will also be encouraged to create a cover letter template that corresponds to the look and feel of your résumé/CV to help make you stand out. As a bonus exercise offered for this Session students will be given the tools to create a 10 year Life Plan to help think about their résumé in a new way, to help get them where they want to go.
How It Works
- Join the session!
- Every few days you’ll receive an email with instructions and tips on how to complete each one of the class milestones.
- Share each of your milestones in the Project section for feedback from the instructor, and classmates. (Participation is encouraged).
- Use the Discussion section to ask questions along the way and to find and share new resources.
- Need extra help? Participate in a live Q&A session with the instructor on September 9th at 12pm EST
- All students who update their project boards will receive personalized feedback from the course Instructor + bonus 10 Year Life Plan template.
Key Dates and Milestones
Milestone 1: Examining résumé case studies – Due: Tuesday, September 8th
- Assignment: Watch video lessons 1-3
- Deliverable: Upload the "before" version of your résumé; throughout the session update your Project Board with any additional versions

Milestone 2: Applying concepts to other documents
- Assignment: Watch video lesson 4 & explore the Discussion area
- Deliverable: Upload your cover letter template

- Assignment: Watch video lessons 5-14
- Deliverable: Upload your final résumé
