Welcome to the October Teach Challenge! We're so excited that you're ready to take the plunge into teaching this Fall. Through the 30-day challenge, we'll guide you through the full process of creating your first class from start to finish with milestones, prizes, and tons of support along the way. Teaching on Skillshare is an amazing way to build your online following, earn a supplemental income through our Partner Program, and share your knowledge with our community of over 1M students.
Challenge Prizes
- All teachers who successfully publish by November 1st will receive a free year of Skillshare Premium Membership.
- All teachers who successfully publish by November 1st will receive an extra $50 bonus.
- Three top teachers who make it through Milestone 3 (your Introduction Video) will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
- One top teacher who successfully publishes by the November 1st deadline will win an iPad Air and see their class featured in a community marketing email to over 1M students!

How It Works
- Sign up for the challenge by clicking the Join button above, and enrolling in our free class on teaching - Teach an Amazing Skillshare Class.
- Every few days, we’ll send you’ll an email with instructions and tips on how to complete each one of the class creation milestones.
- Share each of your milestones in the Project section for feedback.
- Use the Discussions section to ask questions along the way and get help from our Teacher Support team.
- Need extra help? Participate in a live Q&A session with our Teacher Support Team! Join the live video call on Thursday, October 15th at 3pm EST.
- Publish your class to Skillshare by Sunday, November 1st to successfully complete the challenge!

Key Dates and Milestones
Milestone 1: Class Topic and Project - Due Monday October 5th
Milestone 2: Outline - Due Tuesday October 13th
Milestone 3: Your Introduction Video - Due Tuesday October 20th
Milestone 4: Publish Your Class - Due Sunday November 1st
- Assignment: Watch videos 8-9 in Teach an Amazing Skillshare Class, finish recording your videos, and upload them to your class draft.
- Deliverable: Publish your class to Skillshare and share a link to your class in your project by November 1st at 11:59 PM EST!

Teach Challenge Spaces
- The Discussion section is a space for you to drop comments and questions and ask for extra support and feedback from the community!
- Your Project within the Teach an Amazing Skillshare Class is a working space for your Skillshare class! This is where you'll start planning your class and where you'll share your milestones for the challenge. Feel free to also include photos, mood-boards, or any other inspo along the way. Your project within the class will also be shown in the Projects section up above so that it's easily accessible to everyone else who's joined this October Challenge!
- The Class Draft is where you'll input all of your class content once you're ready to publish your class!
FAQs
- What if I miss a deadline? No problem - you can catch up to the next milestone and still be eligible to complete the challenge if you publish your class by the deadline.
- Do I have to live in the USA to participate? You can teach a Skillshare class from anywhere in the world! While we can only give prizes out to residents of the United States who are over 18 years of age due to tax purposes, you can still take the pledge and publish your class to Skillshare.
- Classes are reviewed against our Class Guidelines. The grand prize winner will be awarded with an iPad Mini based on adherence to the class guidelines and quality of content as determined by the Skillshare team .
