In this 4-week workshop, you’ll learn how to improve and speed up your process with professional tricks of the trade. Then, you’ll apply your knowledge to a pattern design project and practice your new workflow while you learn more about Illustrator. This is a workshop for advanced beginners and beyond.

Workshop Timeline

Milestone 1: First up, join design stars Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman in Mastering Illustrator: 10 Tips & Techniques to Speed Up Your Workflow, a Skillshare Original. Dan and Nathan walk you through their streamlined process, revealing the shortcuts and techniques they’ve developed to create a clean, efficient workflow for their high-profile projects. Try out one of their tricks (or all 10) and share the result in the Project Gallery by March 8th.
Milestone 2: Next, join surface designer Esther Nariyoshi in Surface Pattern Design in Adobe Illustrator: A Complete Introduction and turn your hand-drawn doodles into seamless repeat patterns. Put the efficiency skills you learned from DKNG into practice as you vectorize your drawings, edit shapes, explore advanced tools, recolor, and prepare to export your final, client-ready file. Share your pattern in the Project Gallery by March 22nd.
