Make your viewers think, draw them in, and say something meaningful with your photographs in this 4-week workshop. You can revisit your photo archive to build your story, or go out and shoot in your favorite places (just don’t forget your mask). You’ll learn how to spot great shots, how to think through your story as you shoot, and how to build a cohesive and powerful collection for your album. Any camera works. You’ll also need access to the photo editing software of your choice. Beginners welcome!

Workshop Timeline

Milestone 1: First, join photographer Cyn Lagos in Photo Storytelling: Using Color, Contrast, and Scale. Cyn explains how to use these three cues to identify great pictures in the wild, or in your camera roll. You’ll learn to loosen up and focus on composition while honing your artistic eye and sense of narrative framing. Share your photographs in the Project Gallery by September 14th.
Milestone 2: Next, join photographer Sean Dalton in Lifestyle Photography: Immersive Storytelling With Photo Albums. Sean explains how to capture emotion in every shot, how to build stories with images, and how to create a finished album that speaks for itself. You can shoot on-site or continue mining your photo archive for this class. Share your album in the Project Gallery by September 28th.
