You’ll need Adobe Illustrator and some experience using the program, though motivated beginners are welcome!

Workshop Timeline

Milestone 1: First up, join graphic designer Sophia Yeshi in Great Graphic Design: Create Emotional, Gripping Typographic Art, a Skillshare Original. Sophia walks you through the fundamentals of graphic design, building a strong foundation with lots of fresh, experiential tips that will interest even more experienced designers. From there, you’ll try your hand at designing your own lettering. Share your work in the Project Gallery by February 8th.
Milestone 2: Next, join designer Harbor Bickmore in Building a Custom Typeface with Just Enough Personality. In this class you’ll explore custom font design and learn how to create fonts that work as a cohesive set, how to add personality to your type, and how to approach type design with a manageable workflow and approach that sets you up for success. Share your brand new, custom typeface in the Project Gallery by February 22nd.
