Hello! A native New Yorker here, who has been living, working and creating in Los Angeles for more than 20 years.

I love learning & teaching on Skillshare. In fact, I began as a Skillshare student and quickly realized I could use my teaching skills to... well... share the joy. Or as they say here, share the skills.

I spend a lot of my time on sewing projects, and I have a class on Making A Memory Quilt (that's a quilt made out of old t-shirts and other special memorabilia). I also have a beginner project class: Making A Clear, Zippered, Pouch.

I launched My Memory Quilt 1-on-1 Sessions to help students get started successfully on their quilts. All it takes is a good plan and an excellent layout, but sometimes we need some help. Let me, help you.

UPCYCLED RELATED CLASSES:

My Latest Class: o Fabulous Fabric Bowls is a no sew, DIY crafting project and it's a must do for anyone at any skill level. In fact the main skills required: (1) the ability to enjoy getting one's hands messy with glue, (2) the patience to wait for the glue to dry.

In addition to sewing and fabric related, I love everything creative: painting, drawing, journaling, collaging, mixed media, fiber arts projects, etc. I especially enjoy projects that involve an element of recycling or upcycling.

Another passion of mine is art journaling. Logging my day with doodles and comments. I turned this joy into one of my most popular Skillshare classes, you won't want to miss out:

1 Hour Memory Quilt Planning Session

In this 1-hour work session we will figure out and plan the layout of your Memory Quilt. Come to the meeting with all of your items, even the maybe items. Have some work space (floor or a table) area available too - we will layout the shirts/items in this space in 4 or 5 columns. Bring some scrap paper too. If you are stuck with getting started on your project, then this is a great way to get things moving. You'll be snuggled in your blanket in no time!

Let's face it, doing art alone can be, well... lonely. Chatting with someone about art projects, tv shows, recipes, trips, and what-not while working on a project is so much more appealing. Right? But not all of us have art friends who want to do art when we do. This is where I come in! Let's set up a 1:1 session to get our projects done, get some feedback and have an overall nice time. I promise, I am a great conversationalist. The best thing is that when we set up a time to work together, you will be accountable for getting work done. And you WILL do just that - get work done!

I have a background in web design and multi media, but I always have made time for the tangible arts as a needed break from the screen-time and digital stuff. My undergrad education was in Communication from Northwestern University. I then went on to graduate school at New York University/Tisch and got into new media/web design/interactive media.

A move to Los Angeles, parenting and new interests took hold, and here I am! I teach a variety of classes on Skillshare as well as hold live classes and workshops. I have mixed media projects and commissions always brewing. I love digital arts and Procreate. And I am always busy with Memory Quilt commissions.
