Make your own engaging hand and rod puppet using fur, fleece, and bulging ball eyes. You can entertain people of all ages with your very own furry monster puppet character.
The downloadable PDF pattern is easy to follow. You can print only the pattern pages at home and read the instructions or video tutorial on your computer or tablet (and zoom in on photos). Prints on both US letter and A4-sized papers.
• The finished puppet is about 11″ tall and fits most hand sizes from child to adult.
• Fur is a bit harder to sew than fleece, so this pattern is appropriate for novice sewists
• Instructions include clear color photos and a link to the free video tutorial
• These puppets can be machine washable when instructions are followed
Supplies needed: A detailed supply list and tips are in the instructions
Sewing machine (optional), scissors, pins, fabric marking pen
1/4 yard fur, 1/3 yard fleece, tear-away stabilizer, white stretch fabric and balls for eyes, fabric glue, needle and thread for hand and machine sewing, fiberfill, rigid mouth-plate made from recycled plastic or similar (check your recycling bin!), arm-rod could be wooden dowel, plastic balloon stake, or stiff wire.
Optional materials: felt or fleece for the tongue, turning tubes make turning fingers MUCH simpler
