Hello, I’m The Wong Janice, a cellist, mindfulness guide, creative coach and Top Teacher on Skillshare passionate about helping people unlock their (creative) potential. Through a blend of my original ambient cello music, meditation/mindful practices and journaling prompts, I aim to inspire others to find clarity, balance, and flow in their creative journeys. 

I've dedicated my life work to composing and performing music that fosters mindfulness and emotional healing. Through my unique ambient cello music which is improvised and created with effect pedals and loop machines, I’ve facilitated workshops and meditation sessions for individuals and groups worldwide, both in-person and online. During the COVID-19 pandemic I hosted online sessions for some of the biggest companies like Google, Meta and Microsoft. I've performed in Australia, Spain, Germany and The Netherlands at everything from TEDxAmsterdam, festivals, conferences, ecstatic dance, club nights, yoga retreats, cacao ceremonies, corporate events, private house concerts and weddings to online events, summits and conferences. I have reached 50 million Spotify streams and my Wongderful community is called The Wong Family.

Here on Skillshare my classes are beginner-friendly and designed to be practical, inspiring, and accessible to everyone, whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone just starting your creative journey. I believe that creativity thrives when the mind and heart are open, and my lessons focus on fostering that connection through mindful practices.

I teach classes that cover mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, journaling, guided visualizations, and in my latest class even a movement practice. These practices are perfect for anyone looking to break through creative blocks, reduce stress, or simply connect more deeply with their inner self. 

When I’m not playing my cello, you can find me rollerblading with friends at the Friday Night Skate or on the 400m long track ice skating rink. And if I'm not there, or out enjoying the cultural offerings in Amsterdam, I'm likely spending time in the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia with my wife!
