From Doubt to Passion

There was a time when I hesitated to fully embrace my love for decorative and folk art. To me, it seemed too simple—almost childish. Wooden spoons, matryoshka dolls, traditional bowls… Was this all Russian folk painting could be?

But my heart wouldn’t let me walk away. Through years of studying academic painting, drawing, and art history at The Imperial Art Academy in St. Petersburg, I kept circling back to the vibrant beauty of traditional art. And now? I’ve found my true home in it—and I’ve discovered that folk art is anything but simple!

My Mission: Bringing Folk Art to the World

I want to show people everywhere that folk art—especially Russian traditional painting—is more than just nostalgia. It’s harmonious, meaningful, and deeply connected to our roots. And yes—it can be stylish, modern, and utterly captivating in today’s world!

What I Create

I specialize in hand-painted interior pieces—ornamental compositions on paper, wooden surfaces, and home decor. Each piece carries the warmth of tradition while adding a unique touch to any space.

But why stop there? Recently, I’ve expanded into digital patterns inspired by folk motifs. Now, you can surround yourself with tradition in every form:

¡Hola! Soy Irina De Vicente, y estoy encantada de darte la bienvenida a mis clases en Skillshare.

De la Duda a la Pasión

Hubo un tiempo en el que dudaba en abrazar por completo mi amor por el arte decorativo y popular. Para mí, parecía demasiado simple, casi infantil. Cucharas de madera, matrioshkas, cuencos tradicionales… ¿Era eso todo lo que podía ofrecer la pintura folclórica rusa?

Pero mi corazón no me dejó renunciar. Después de años estudiando pintura académica, dibujo e historia del arte en la Academia Imperial de Arte de San Petersburgo, siempre volvía a la belleza vibrante del arte tradicional. ¿Y ahora? ¡He encontrado mi verdadero hogar en él y he descubierto que el arte popular es todo menos simple!

Mi Misión: Llevar el Arte Popular al Mundo

Quiero mostrarle a todo el mundo que el arte folclórico—especialmente la pintura tradicional rusa—es mucho más que nostalgia. Es armonioso, lleno de significado y profundamente conectado con nuestras raíces. ¡Y sí, puede ser elegante, moderno y absolutamente cautivador en el mundo actual!

Lo Que Creo

Me especializo en piezas decorativas pintadas a mano—composiciones ornamentales en papel, superficies de madera y decoración para el hogar. Cada obra lleva el calor de la tradición mientras añade un toque único a cualquier espacio.

¿Pero por qué quedarse ahí? Recientemente, he incursionado en diseños digitales inspirados en motivos folclóricos. Ahora puedes rodeararte de tradición en todas sus formas:

Piezas originales pintadas a mano (lienzos, vajillas, accesorios)

Textiles estampados (cojines, mantas, cortinas, manteles... ¡lo que imagines!)

¿El resultado? Un hogar lleno de alma, historia y encanto moderno.
