Welcome to my painting class! In this basic painting class, I am going to show you how to paint a vibrantly colored floral still life with acrylic paints. In this easy to follow four-step process you will take the reference photo and learn to create an expressive, brightly colored painting from it. There are many different ways to paint with acrylic paints but if you enjoy vibrant color that create a happy vibe this class is for you!
This class is intended for beginners who want to learn how to paint step by step and for those who want to expand their painting practice. 
In this class you will learn:
*You will learn what supplies you will need to create an acrylic painting and how to care for your brushes and manage your paint palette.
*You will learn the difference between transparent and opaque paint.
*You will learn how to create a gesture sketch that captures movement and value separations using charcoal. (Step 1)
*You will learn to paint a vibrantly colored under painting using transparent paint only. (Step 2)
*You will how to re-establish your lines after the transparent layer using chalk pastel. (Step 3)
*You will learn how to add opaque paints to complete your painting and sign it. (step 4)
Included is a gridded photo that you are welcome to use for this class or you can chose a still life photo of your own and follow along. 
ABOUT JOAN MARGARET:

<li>Joan Margaret is a wife, mother, fine artist and yogini. She has been creating since childhood, and is a classically trained graphic designer, studied fine art in London and is a self-taught painter. Joan’s favorite themes to paint are landscapes and florals. “I would describe my style as a blend of impressionist and expressionistic art that leads the viewer to a place of joy and tranquility!” Joan also brings this sense of joy and mindfulness to her work as a surface pattern designer.</li>
<li>Joan has recently returned from Italy where she studied Impressionism.</li>
<li>Along with being a fine artist, Joan is  a Trauma Informed Yoga Educator and Trainer of more than 23 years, an Adjunct Professor and Entrepreneur. Joan loves to collect quotes, this one being a favorite: “Remember, it is not the years in our life that matter, rather it is the life in our years!".</li>
