Mimicry to Mastery: Drawing Portraits from Reference

Hi Ayushi,Greta job on the first section of this class. you have done well to identify what you have. It would be great to also have identified the eye socket and the back of the head to show the full skull structure of the head. In this case with her volumes hair the skull structure would only be estimated but you can make a good guess. This will help you as you later draw the structure of the face. Also your representation of the chin is slightly off. You have only captured the right half of her chin, as she is facing three quarters her chin is actually more to the left inline with the nose. It would be great if you took some selfies at different angles of your own face (including front on) and repeated this exercise for yourself to grow your understanding of where these key pieces of anatomy sit at different angles.I look forward to seeing you progress, if you add more to this project just respond to this comment so I can see it.Keep creating, Cara

  I will work on the areas which need improvement. I had one doubt though, as I am making the final sketch I am having the problem in understanding the color tones , can you suggest any exercise that I can do to improve in this area?
