I used St Cuthberts Mill's Saunders Waterford 300gsm 100% cotton cold-pressed paper in size 20x31cm and Daniel Smith's tube watercolors. 

Unfortunately this past summer a young great spotted woodpecker flew into our fourth story balcony's window and died on impact. We buried it in our backyard, and that's where the feathers in the image are from. We live in the middle of our capital city (Helsinki, Finland) so seeing one around here is very rare, I was honestly so sad over this little lost bird. Ever since then I've wanted to honor the little guy by painting one, so I'm glad I came across this class and got the chance to do that. I tried to do this beautiful bird justice and all in all I'm pretty happy with my result.
