Watercolor Practice Sheets

Watercolor Practice Sheets - image 1 - student project

Practicing these skills has been beneficial, not only in refining my brush and water control, but also in the practice of practicing.  Making time for this type of learning and practice is something I generally neglect.  I know my work will benefit greatly from integrating these exercises into a regular practice.

Watercolor Practice Sheets - image 2 - student projectI got through a good chunk of practice and realized I was avoiding working with the dry brush.  The tactile feel of the dry brush is so different, and less pleasurable.  Even though it feels awkward I can see it could have applications and is worth practicing.

Watercolor Practice Sheets - image 3 - student projectI'm usually very project driven and forget how enjoyable and meditative this kind of practice can be.  I tried to practice some repetitive shapes to work on refining my control.  I found this the most challenging aspect.

Thanks for the great class!
