Watercolor Pet Portrait - Chihuahua

Emily, you are a fabulous instructor and made this such an enjoyable class! The lessons and step by step breakdown were a huge help to me in learning the important tips to create this special pet portrait for my niece.

This is the dog I chose to paint for my project. My niece asked me to do this for her as she recently had to say goodbye to her beautiful little lady, Lacy. She was her 13 1/2 year old loveable Chihuahua cuddlebug!  I have never done a pet portrait before so I told her I'd give it my best effort.  She sent me a photograph to use for the watercolor painting which I've included for you to see.  I'm also sharing an "in process" photo taken at my desk.

It took me approximately 5 hours of time, broken up into a few different segments so as not to overwhelm me!  I had to repeatedly tell myself to not be afraid, that I could do this! :)  I tried very hard to capture Lacy's personality through her eyes and nose!

I already have other requests for pet portraits so I'm going to have to continue learning and working at this! Emily, I would appreciate your feedback on this one!
