Vintage Tea Party
Hi lovelies!
Here's my take on our class project. I can't wait to see yours, so please be sure to upload! It will help keep us all inspired and motivated.
Vintage Finds:
When doing my vintage treasure hunt, I kept being drawn to objects that reminded me of a tea party.

Sketching:
Before jumping into composition, I wanted to sketch some of the vintage finds that were resonating with me. Sometimes it helps to sketch the object realistically before you stylize it.

Composition Studies:
I ended up liking the composition where all of the items were lined up side-by-side. It gives a sense of orderliness, which helps balance everything since my illustrations are super stylized.

Picking My Color Palette:
Sometimes it's super clear what the colors should be, and other times it helps to do a couple of demos.

All Done!
What's so fun about drawing vintage objects is that they kind of feel like yours (and without having to buy them!). That's the power of illustration; you get to create your own little world and share it with others.
