I had a ton of fun with this tutorial. Repeat patterns have always interested me, especially for textile design. Wonderful to have an opportunity to add to my skill set. Love having an additional approach to utilize. Thanks for the inspiration. I may add more pieces here in the future.

Below are some of my initial sketches. I decided to go with a food theme instead of my city for my first try. I had so many that I narrowed the theme down to vegetables. I plan on following up with fruits and cookware, etc.

I illustrated the individual veggies in Photoshop and then placed them in Illustrator to create the repeat pattern. Here's the final repeat - I'm not sure if I have a different version of Illustrator, but the setting I used for the 10x10" art-board: Brick by Row, Brick offset - 1/2, HxW - 5in, Copies 3x3.
