Using Art Prompts

In this project I followed the same prompts and painted along. I used Arteza 140 lb watercolor paper with Paul Reubens Gucai watercolors. I have used the Arteza only once or twice and thought it was time to switch up the paper as a different substrate. The paints are new metallics and I have never used them before. I used different sized lids/caps to stamp the overlapping circles, applied paint with my fingers, used my non dominant hand to draw lines and then mirrored the line with my dominant hand in a different colour. I included both black and white lines of dots, some on their own, some to extend lines and others to fill in the gaps of broken circles. I also used a stencil to add more depth. I really enjoyed using the prompts as they push you to think more about when and how you will incorporate them. I used two colorways; blue and green and burgundy, gold, with a touch of pink.

These paints are amazing. I did notice some colours a very similar to the Super Vision ones I already have so I will be doing some comparison swatches. This paper worked well, but did tear a bit when removing the tape. The 11 x 14 inch size will allow me to try some larger pieces of artwork.
