Since I had decided to submerge my “butterfly” into the deep sea, I was facing the challenge of adding texture and shadows to an already very dark illustration. I found this too difficult (or rather impossible) and therefore changed the focus from the already very detailed ray to the space, plants and creatures around it. I’m not totally satisfied with the result but ok enough to declare it done. ;)
